Hypothes.is

Setting Up Hypothes.is

Hypothes.is is a tool we can use to annotate our readings together, as a group.  Each of us will need to have Google Chrome installed on our computers.  If you’re already using Chrome, installing the Hypothesis extension is easy (please skip ahead to Step 2).  We will also need to all join the same Hypothes.is group (Step 3).  A short video (Step 4) will show you how to use Hypothes.is – it’s very easy.

To get started:

1. If you need to download and install Chrome, you can do that here:

https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/desktop/index.html

2.  Next, install the Hypothes.is Chrome extension.  Here is a short YouTube video that will walk you through it:

When you’re ready, you can get the Chrome extension at this link:

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/bjfhmglciegochdpefhhlphglcehbmek

3.  Once you have Hypothes.is installed, you will need to create an account and log in.  Next, please join the DomainsResist group.  As long as you are in your annotations will be shared with our class, but will not be visible to others on the Web.

To join our group, click this link.

Our group will now be part of your hypothes.is account.  You can find it in the drop down menu on the right hand side of the reading.  This is where you will add your annotations for any readings we will share.
